KUMON LEARNING CENTER EARLY-LEARNER INSTRUCTOR TRAINING E-LEARNING PROTOTYPE

I created a Rise360 eLearning prototype for the training process for early-learner Kumon Learning Center instructors must undergo before working with students.

Mayer’s multimedia principles, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Nine Events of Instruction, & the ADDIE model were all utilized to create essential learning modules that motivates instructor job performance with the establishment of consistent and clear work standards.

Student Instructional Procedure

I created a typical student instructional procedure that instructors should follow as guidance when one is confused about what all they should do and/or look for when working with students.

My goal is to create a step-by-step process instructors can rely on when faced with working with students they may not be familiar with. Based on this process, instructors will be able to develop 20-25 minute time management plans towards student level proficiency.

I created structured reading level content flashcards to help instructors understand each reading level student objective and corresponding activities available to develop student proficiency.

My goal is to create an engaging strategy to help instructors test themselves on their current knowledge and compare it to Kumon’s objectives. Each level’s skills build from the prior level’s skill proficiencies so instructors will understand what to look for when evaluating and providing feedback for each student.

eLearning Assessments

eLearner assessment block

I created a learner’s assessment activity to help instructors correctly identify what activities are appropriate for each reading level.

My goal was to create an activity that will test the learner on knowledge learned in the prior reading level content modules. This knowledge is important for learners to understand in order for early-learner students to practice appropriate skills for level proficiency and increase the student’s work level engagement with the instructor’s improved and accurate job performance.

I created scenario-based eLearning blocks to immerse the learner in day-to-day decision-making scenarios that the learner will experience in the workplace.

My goal was to create typical scenarios learners may encounter while working with multiple students. This knowledge is important for early-learner instructors to understand how to maneuver through because instructors must balance student satisfaction and keeping students engaged with the learning process with meeting administrative necessities through common workplace hurdles.

Student Management Tips

STUDENT MANAGMENT TIPS

I created student management tips that instructors can refer to when struggling to manage working with multiple students at once and keeping both students focused and on task.

My goal was to create reference tips instructors can rely on when faced with working with students that may not be motivated to complete their Kumon work for the day. Based on this process, instructors will be able to ensure both students are getting the most out of the learning experience by meeting them where they are, encouraging their progress, increasing their internal motivation to complete their assigned Kumon work and activities.
