Who am I?

Cydney A. Richardson

Hailing from the south suburbs of Chicago and having attained a Bachelor of Science in Education & Social Policy with a Human Development & Psychological Services concentration at Northwestern University, my academic passions and life’s mission continues to align at the University of San Diego’s MSLDT program.

America’s racial biases within the educational and judicial systems have historically ostracized low-income minorities to succumb to higher suspension rates and curricula that has not centered the empowerment of these targeted students. Dismantling the “school-to-prison” pipeline has been my mission by creating curricula, programming, and e-learning opportunities that will encourage students to find their identities within educational and cultural environments that will be conducive to their academic, mental, and emotional growth.

I have utilized my experience has an instructor at small business enrichment centers in Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA, and Santa Monica, CA as well as my services as an online and traveling math and reading tutor to prioritize mentorship, guidance, and mental stimulation among minority youth. In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, attending concerts/recitals, dancing, and spending time with my 2 cats Blossom and Bubbles.
